LJ @ 2 Months!

Lhana's 2 month well check appointment went really well! Dr. McCormick said that she is exactly where she wants her to be and not to many kids fall in the "just right" category.
Weight: 10lbs 14oz
Height: 22 inches
She is in the 50th percentile for both categories, so she is absolutely perfect!!
On to the photo shoot. Take a look. It didn't go quite as smoothly as her 1 month. She was really happy inside so I put her shirt on and bow took her outside and she was no longer happy. She decided she was way too exhausted for a photo-shoot. So I snapped a few a let her be. She is beautiful even when she is screaming her head off!

At 2 months our little girl...
  • Can recognize our voices instantly
  • Can focus on objects and follows them around and smiles at them and also tries to touch them. She reaches with her fists, she doesn't realize that she needs to open her hand in order to grab it.
  • Can clear the room with her glass breaking squel
  • Is not wearing bows too often. I know they are sooo cute, but some of them leave indentions on her head if she wears them very long and some fall over her eyes in the carseat. I just don't find them necessary right now, so we only wear them occasionally.
  • Is beginning to coo and make the cutest little girl sounds, so presh!
  • Loves the bath. I mean loves the bath!!!!!! She cries her little heart out every night when we get out.
  • Hates to ride in the car. I just take a breath and try to tune her out as her scream rattles my insides.
  • Eats about every 3 hours now, but occasionally will get hungry a little sooner. She usually nurses for 15-25 minutes. I have no idea how much she eats each feeding, but my guess is about 3-4 ounces??
  • Is in size 1 diapers and is finally outgrowing some of her newborn clothing and is in 0-3month
  • Is still waking up during the night...usually twice. I did let her sleep on her stomach for the first time at 8 weeks and she only woke up once at 4:30am. As much as this freaks me out, I may continue to let her do so just so I can sleep. I have an Angel monitor that goes off if she stops breathing for longer than 10 seconds, so I am not sure what I am afraid of, but something about letting her sleep on her belly all the time freaks me out.
  • Is still sleeping in her rocker in our room. Once she sleeps all night I will move her into her crib in her own room
  • Loves her hand. Rory did too! She will ball it in a fist and suck on it and sometimes stick it so far in that she gags herself
  • Rubs her eyes when she is extremely tired. Its so sweet!
  • Poops more than she eats. I thought her bowels were suppose to slow down, but she has poo I would say 8 out of 10 times that I change her. Good thing it doesn't really stink.
  • Grunts louder than any man I swear when going to the bathroom. There are times when I will just sit and listen to her grunting and crack up laughing.
  • Has the most gorgeous blue eyes. I am pretty sure they are going to be pretty close to the same color as Rory's.
  • Is super strong and holds her head up all by herself with only a wobble every now and then.
  • Hates Tummy Time; however, she can push really hard with oneof her legs and gets her body halfway rolled over. I assume she will be rolling over by our next monthly post.
  • Loves her pacifier that was actually one we had from when Rory was a baby since he never tookone. But I am anti-pacifier and I have done the unthinkable. I have given this child a paci and she loves it. I hate it! At about 1 month of age she was getting fussy after she would eat and I thought she was just a fussy baby when really it was that I was not letting her feed long enough. So I gave her the paci to satisfy her and now she is not giving it up. I have also since been feeding her more, dont worry!

As much joy and warmth as Lhana has brought our family, I can't lie, it has been really really hard. Don has been working long hours teaching and coaching golf and is now tutoring until 9:30pm at Southwire. So he is exhausted when he gets home and I too am exhausted from spending all day with two kids who both demand my attention in completely different ways.
It has been very stressful at times, I've even shed a few tears, but this little lady has no doubt brought so much love and joy and happiness and so much more to our family of three and we have very quickly readjusted the best we can to a family of four. I have already forgotten what it was like with just one child! (Not really forgotten but I can't imagine the amount of spare time I must've had. ha!) She just fits right in.We love her to the moon and back and look so forward to the years to come!
