Thanksgiving 2012!

This year Thanksgiving was a little different than normal. We now have two kids to lug around rather that one. Don had a fever and was the sickest I have seen him in a long time. We went to Grandma Ivey's for Thanksgiving with his family but were unable to stand long due to Don feeling so awful. I managed to get a few pics, but not too many. No family pic :(
After lunch at Grandma's, we dropped Don off at home and I took the kids to my mother's to visit that side of the family. Lhana slept most of the time and Rory played his little heart out.
Oh...and our sweet Lhana is now 9 Months!!

LJ @ 9 Months!

  • Is standing and cruising around furniture
  • Loves her walker and occasionally lets go to stand for a few seconds
  • Ate her second round of dressing and still loves it
  • Finally has two teeth!! Hooray! They came in at almost 9 months!
  • Experienced her first ear infection due to RSV (bronchiolitis)
  • Still nursing every 4.5 hours, occasionally every 5
  • Wakes twice during the night. More often when she is sick
  • Is much more curious and independent that Rory ever was. She is going to be a diva, no doubt about it.
  • Drinks from a sippy cup. She tilts the cup straight up and her head straight back. Its too funny. Bottoms up!
  • Has developed a new squeel. She now has this high-pitched squeel that she does when she is getting tired, mad, or when she wants something. She does it often when Rory plays with her and takes her toy.
  • Waves and says bye bye, bottle, mama, and dada as prompted
  • Dances! She bounces up and down to music
  • Claps or holds her hands up and cheers with us when we say "Yay!"
  • Babbles constantly!
  • Loves her naps, but doesn't nap long. She will lay down in the pack-n-play and go right to sleep. If she isn't quite tired yet or is fighting sleep she will toss her paci onto the floor and holler until we give it back to her. She usually only does this once or twice
  • Has experienced a small bit of formula due to Mommy having to take some pain medicine for a broken foot

Our beautiful LJ @ 8 Months!

  • Says Da-da like its going out of style!
  • Is pulling up on everything. She is climbing and gets into things that are suppose to be off limits. She is quite brave!
  • Waves and will say "bye-bye" when prompted, and sometimes just because
  • Gives high fives and sometimes tens and twenties. She gets a little excited.
  • Is going to be a talker! She attempts to say ball by making the "bah" sound. She also does this with her puffs..."puh"
  • Is finally crawling on all fours, but not all the time. When she wants to get somewhere very quickly she drops to her stomach and darts.
  • Still a mommas girl but her stranger anxiety has decreased dramatically. She will let anyone hold her now days as long as she is not sleepy or hungry.
  • Celebrated her first halloween last month. She was a precious little lady bug
  • Loves to nap in her pack-n-play. She sleeps so well in it and usually puts up litts le to no fuss
  • Enjoys watching and interacting with other children
  • Is still nursing ever 4-4.5 hours during the day and every 3 HOURS at night! AHH! What is her problem?? I give her a bowl of oatmeal right before bed and then nurse her so I know her tummy is full. I've even supplemented formula right before bed for 3 nights to see if that did the trick. Nope! Nothing works. She just loves her mommy and me cuddle time I suppose.
  • Has begun to eat a few new foods. She will fight someone over her banana chunks! We all love bananas. She eats teething biscuits and Gerber cookies. I give her small crumbs of bread too, but...
  • She still has no teeth!! Not even one that I can see. Is she going to be toothless forever? It sure seems like it.
  • Is obsessed with men, especially her Pop and PawPaw. She gets so giddy when they play and talk to her and cries when they leave the room.
  • Wears a size 3 diaper and 9 month clothing. Some 9-12 month. She is still itsy bitsy
  • Has quite the personality. She starts bouncing and smiling when she sees her puffs and will even laugh out loud sometime when we are bringing them her way. She is crazy about her snacks!
  • Grunts or hollers all sorts of sounds when she wants food! She is very demanding. She caught me picking our some puffs in the grocery store the other day and I had to open them right there and give her some because she would not be quiet. She does this in her high chair as well.
  • Is not a fan of her car seat. She cries and tries to buck out each time we load her up. Only a few more months until we can turn her around. Hopefully that will make the difference.
  • Goes to Andrea's (our sitter) house 2-3 days per week.
