Athens, Georgia!

No! We were not there to support the Georgia Bulldogs!

This past weekend we excaped to the Miller's house in Bogart, Georgia (right outside of Athens). We went up Friday night and spent the night with Shaun, Melanie, and sweet Anna Brooke. Saturday, the rest of our friends came up. There were 4 couples and 7 kids! One of those being Rory's good friend, Palmer. Whoo! Talk about a house full of youngins. Don and the guys had an afternoon tee time, so us ladies took all the kids to the pool. We put the kids to bed early and had some late night "grown up" fun. It was such a great weekend getaway!

Play Date!

The Carrollton Theater plays kids movies every Thursday throughout the entire summer for just $1! How awesome is that! Rory and Jack went to watch Happy Feet 2 today. Afterward, Jack came over to play. He and Rory ran around like a couple of wild indians. Jack is only about 7 months older than Rory, so they play really well together. They had the most fun running aound the house shooting one another with the nerf and pirate guns. Sweet boys...

Happy 4th of July!

We had an awesome family day on the 4th! We took the kids to the parade that morning. Rory was able to grab lots of candy and other goodies. He got to see firetrucks, motorcycles, horses, goats, and lots of tractors! It was a dream come true for him. Lhana was less interested and preferred to take a nap. It was H.O.T!
After the parade, we ate lunch at Chick-fil-a (Rory's pick---always!), napped, ate dinner, then we strolled over to Richard's Lake where we met up with Don's parents and were able to see the firewoks in clear view over the lake! Best seats in the house!
On our way to watch the fireworks!!
Our perfect view...

LJ@4 Months!

Geez, our little girl is 4 months old and getting more precious everyday! She has extreme stranger anxiety and is such a mommy's girl right now. She has become more comfortable with Don but that is it! She likes no one else (except her awesome brother, of course. But he can't hold or comfort her, so he doesn't count). Things can still get rather hectic around here, but each day is getting easier. It is extremely hard most days, but so worth it!
Our photo shoot didn't last too long this month. It was over 100 degrees outside and almost impossible to get Lhana to smile. I don't blame her. We took a few outside and then we had to move inside. The heat has been unbearable.

We went for Lhana's 4 month well-check on the 28th. She is growing at a steady rate and still healthy as ever!
Weight: 13lbs. 14oz
Height: 24.9 inches

Dr. McCormick gave us the go ahead on baby food! I am excited about this, but I'm not too excited. It means more work and more items we have to pack when leaving the house. I was so excited to start baby food with Rory that I immediately went out and bought him some fruits and veggies. With Lhana, I am going to take it slow. I've got her some rice cereal and have been giving it to her the past couple of evenings for dinner. She will eat betwen 3-4 tablespoons. She loves it!
At 4 months our little lady:
  • Wears a size 2 diaper
  • Is in 3-6 month clothing
  • Nurses every 3 hours for about 10 minutes at a time
  • Loves her exersaucer and jumpie! Her feet finally reach the floor and she can bounce herself. She can also reach the toys on these things and play with them which makes her a little more content. She still doesn't like to hang out in them too long.
  • Is finally sleeping 7 hours straight consistently! I have been feeding her the rice cereal for dinner and allowing her to sleep on her stomach now at night and it seems to be just what the Dr. ordered. She goes to be between 9:30 and 10 and will sleep until 5 every morning. At that point I feed her and she will go to sleep until 8. This is a very consistent schedule.
  • Is not the best napper. She naps every day when Rory does, after lunch, for about 2-3 hours. She cat naps 2-3 times in the mornings. I am trying to get her to take a long nap in the am too but its extremely hard with a wired toddler running around!
  • Gets so excited about the bath! As soon as I lay her down to get undressed she is all smiles!
  • Loves her brother to no end! So far, he is the only one who has made her laugh and chuckle out loud. Don and I can make her smile when we talk to her or giggle when we tickle, but Rory has the magic touch. He dances and sigs for her and she cracks up!! It is PRECIOUS! These two are going to be best friends!
  • Constantly graps her toes. She has attempted a time or two to put them in her mouth, but no toe sucking yet.
  • Doesn't mind riding in the car anymore!! Praise the Lord!!!
  • Is so attached to mommy that I still have to hold her on my chest to get her to sleep. She also takes a paci during this time.
  • Grabbing everything she can get her hands on. She pulls my hair out by the handful.
  • Drools like a open faucet. No signs of any teeth yet.
  • Loves to be walked outside and carried in her Bjorn.
  • Has shown us that we have so much love to give!
